Hello!

I'm Hajnal. After being vegetarian for 8 years I started my vegan journey in 2017. That was the best decision of my life. As a yogini I follow the ahimsa philosophy of non-harming. I am vegan because I respect all living beings and for environmental and spiritual reasons as well. Besides that I enjoy the health benefits of the plant-based diet. I was suffering from the crucifying pain of endometriosis but now I'm able to live my life pain free. I'd like to share my passion of cruelty-free cooking with you!

Hello dear friends!
I'm getting into the Chrismas vibes but haven't done much preparation this year as we are spending the holidays in Hungary. First Xmas for my babygirl and spending time with family dont allow much time for photography. The temptation is strong, Im craving it big time. Occasionally I did photograph on the past months. Mostly produce because thats the quickest but no time for Insta. I think I learned to let that pressure go.

I haven't disappeared, burning inside to get back to photography but life has been a bit hectic with baby. I will try to go gradually, start with some produce or simple shots. I need to explore the new home also, my shooting space between the kitchen, highchair, toys and playmat. Start with something not too messy😆 Oh, how much I missed this🤩

Long time no see. Life was a bit hectic and busy

Long time no see.

Life was a bit hectic and busy in the last months as we decided to move from London to Manchester. Finding a home is a full time job. Racing with time to sort out everything before baby girl's arrival. Boxes, packing, full DIY in the new home, painting, fixing things....you can imagine. Still loads of work in progress. Last week Sunday finally I unboxed the studio lights and the camera to click some bump photos and I'm sooo glad we didn't delay the shot further. As the very next day my water broke and after long 20 hours labour my gorgeous baby girl was born 2 weeks earlier than expected. Since then we have been floating in the infinite ocean of love (hubby's words). I do not have words. Im sleep deprived but this is the most amazing life experience ever. ❤

Not very good at editing portraits and skintones, my reflectors are still packed but these photos will always have a special place.

I dedicate this to my mother who made our childhoo

I dedicate this to my mother who made our childhood magical. Warmth of the home, seasonal creative plays, laughter, baked goodies from the oven, tea...I got the urge to create from her. She always creates, from jewellery till unusual marmaledes, from decoration till activities with her grandson. She got it from my grandma who was another creative soul. It is our heritage of the maternal line.

These horse chestnut figures are from one of my favourite Hungarian children book, Kippkopp and Tipptopp. My 3 years old nephew's favourite too. 🍁🍂🌰

We still do all the crafty things as adults together, mom and my sisters. Especially around Christmas time when we happen to be all at home. Hopefully next year we will be again all together.

I have to confess that I dont cook Hungarian food

I have to confess that I dont cook Hungarian food too often.🇭🇺 I moved from my country after uni to Greece, from Greece to India and now I live in the UK. All these cultures had an impact not only on me as a person but also on my kitchen. Indian food is daily, Hungarian food craving creeps in occasionally.

When I moved first time I joined a FB group of Hungarian expats. The question ofter occured "What do you miss most from home?". Interestingly most people mentioned food. It made me realise that food is way more than just food. Our homesickness manifested in cravings for food. Food is a story, our memories, the smell and taste of home, our mothers love and care, our roots. Every time I travelled home I requested my mom to make something what is loaded with sour cream. That was my craving for the taste of home.

Then throughout the years I became a vegetarian and a vegan. My kitchen changed and became a fusion. If I cook Hungarian food I use 4 times more the amount of spices what is required. My tastebuds got used to the Indian way😆 So I think that made my mushroom soup tastier than ever. Its made with porcini, tarragon and vegan sour cream, accompanied with some cone called "pogàcsa". Traditional in my area called Zala. Even though Im not cooking much Hungarian food, but my roots are still strong and soup is in my blood.🥣

I missed the ice entry but at least my excitement is still strong to get back on the creative game.

Thank you all the kind messages after my last post. Thank you for sharing you own experiences. I normally don't like to show weakness but I think Im quite comfortable showing my vulnerabilities. I find that it makes a difference and shared stories, experiences can really connect people on a deeper level. Im grateful.❤
